Composition

Active ingredient: natamycin 100 mg.

Excipients: cetyl alcohol, sodium bicarbonate, Polysorbate 80, sorbitan trioleate, adipic acid, semi-synthetic glycerides.

Pharmacological action

Polyene antifungal antibiotic from the group of macrolides having a broad activity spectrum. Primature has a fungicidal effect. Natamycin binds sterols cell membranes, disrupting their integrity and functions, leading to death of microorganisms. Active against most yeast-like fungi (especially Candida albicans), dermatomitsety (Trichophyton, Microsporum, Epidermophyton), yeasts (Torulopsis and Rhodotorula), other fungi (Aspergillus, Penicillium, Fusarium, Cephalosporium), as well as against some protozoa (Trichomonas). No effect on gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

Resistance to natamitino in clinical practice is not common. 

Testimony

Fungal infection of the vulva and vagina, with a prophylactic purpose in the treatment with cytostatics, glucocorticoids or broad-spectrum antibiotics.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to the drug Primapagina.
  
• Application of pregnancy and breastfeeding
  
• Perhaps the use of the drug Pribaturin during pregnancy and lactation.
  

Method of application and doses

Intrawaginalno, administered if possible, deep into the vagina in the supine position. Adults 100 mg (1 suppository) night. The course of treatment is 3-6 days. During menstruation treatment is interrupted.

Side effects

Local reactions – mild irritation, burning sensation.

Special instructions

In the period of menstruation therapy suppositories Pribaturin interrupt. During treatment with suppositories is not necessary to exclude sexual contacts. However, it is recommended to conduct a survey of sexual partners and, in case of detection of vulvovaginal lesions, to treat a partner.

Storage conditions

Store in a dry, protected from light place, at temperature 15-25oC. Keep out of reach of children.
