An alkaloid found in various plants of the Solanaceae family
Pharmacological action
It has M-cholinolytic activity. Blocks M-cholinergic systems of the body. Atropine in the body is accompanied by a decrease in the secretion of salivary, gastric, bronchial, sweat glands (the latter receive sympathetic cholinergic innervation), pancreas, increased heart rate (due to reduced inhibitory action on the heart vagus nerve), lowering the tone of smooth bodies (bronchi abdominal organs, etc.). The action of atropine is more pronounced with increased tone of the vagus nerve.
Dosage and administration
Take inside, picking up the dose individually (usually before the appearance of light dryness in the mouth). Depending on the sensitivity to atropine dose may be 6-8-10-12-15 drops of 0, 1% solution to receive 2-3 times a day. Assign 30-40 minutes before eating or an hour after eating. In cases of exacerbation of the disease, atropine is administered first in the form of subcutaneous injections. Under the skin enter 0, 00025-0, 0005-0, 001 g (0, 25-0, 5-1 ml 0, 1% solution).

Indications for use
Gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, pylorospasm (spasm of the muscles of the pylorus of the stomach), cholecystitis (inflammation of the gallbladder), intestinal spasms, to reduce the secretion of salivary and gastric glands.
Side effect
Dry mouth, dilated pupils, impaired accommodation (impaired visual perception), atony (loss of tone) of the intestine, dizziness, tachycardia (palpitations), difficulty urinating.
Contraindications
Glaucoma (increased intraocular pressure).
