Part centaury contains: bitter glycosides (gentomicin, amelogenin, centaurin, quartenary, eritoran) - most of them are contained in the flowers and stems of the plant, flavonoids, a small amount of alkaloids actinidine and pyridine groups, essential oil, ascorbic acid, mucus, phytosterol, resins, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals.

The herb of the Golden thousand is used as bitterness, contributing to the improvement of digestion, appetite, increased bile secretion. It is part of the bitter fees and bitter tincture. Tea centaury is tonic, stimulating the gastrointestinal tract. It has anti-inflammatory, choleretic, analgesic, laxative, carminative, blood purifying, restorative, analgesic, antiseptic and wound healing effect.

Preparations of the Golden thousand are recommended for use in nervous exhaustion, malaria, dysentery, heartburn, anemia, liver and kidney disease, pulmonary tuberculosis, alcoholism and as an anti-worm.

Method of application: 1 tablespoon of raw pour a glass of hot boiled water and heated in a water bath for 15 minutes with frequent stirring. Cool, squeeze, the volume of the infusion is adjusted with boiled water to 200 ml. Take 1 tablespoon 3 times a day.
