Description pharmaceutical form:
Ointment from white to white with Valium or pinkish shade, with low specific smell.
Characteristic:
Synthetic derivative imidazoldiaksolana.
Pharmachologic effect:
It inhibits the biosynthesis of ergosterol in fungi and changes the composition of the lipid components of membranes. It is active against dermatophytes (Trichophyton, microsporum, Epidermophyton floccosum), yeasts (Candida, Pityrosporum).
Pharmacokinetics:
Prolonged topically blood ketoconazole is not determined.
Indications:
Ringworm of the skin smooth, jock itch, athlete's hands and feet, skin candidiasis, pityriasis versicolor, seborrheic dermatitis, caused by Pityrosporum ovale.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity, the integrity of the skin in places intended application of ointment.
Application of pregnancy and breastfeeding:
Application of pregnancy and breastfeeding is possible (practically not absorbed into the systemic circulation).
Side effect:
Local reactions: burning, hives, skin rash. Rarely - contact dermatitis.
Dosage and administration:
Locally. When tinea skin ointment applied directly to the affected and adjacent surfaces 1 time a day, seborrheic dermatitis when - 1-2 times a day (depending on the severity of the injury). The mean duration of treatment of tinea of ??the skin - 3-4 weeks, jock itch, and seborrheic dermatitis - 2-4 weeks, tinea pedis - 4-6 weeks, yeast infections, and pityriasis versicolor - 2-3 weeks.
Overdose:
Treatment: Accidental reception ointment inside - gastric lavage, symptomatic therapy.
Special instructions:
Avoid contact with eyes ointment.
In appointing the drug on a background of long-term treatment with glucocorticoids for the topical treatment of the latter should continue and cancel them gradually over the next 2-3 weeks. During treatment, you must comply with the general rules of hygiene.
