ethyl alpha bromo iso valeric acid 2 g

phenobarbital 1.826 g

ethyl alcohol 95% 79 ml

Excipients: sodium hydroxide peppermint oil purified water

In glass bottle of 25 or 50 ml in the paper cartons.

Clear, colorless liquid with an aromatic characteristic odor.

Description of the pharmacological actions:

Phenobarbital has sedative and mild hypnotic effect. It helps reduce CNS excitation and facilitates offensive natural sleep. Etylbromisovalerianate has sedative and antispasmodic action. Peppermint oil has a vasodilating and spasmolytic activity.

Testimony:

As a sedative, and vasodilator:

  • functional disorders of the cardiovascular system
  • neurosis-like states, accompanied by increased irritability
  • sleep disturbances
  • tachycardia
  • excitation state with marked autonomic manifestations.

As an antispasmodic:

  • intestinal spasms.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the drug

pronounced renal dysfunction and / or liver.

Application of pregnancy and breastfeeding:

Appointment of the drug during pregnancy is possible only under strict indications. If necessary, the appointment during lactation should decide the issue of termination of breastfeeding.

Side effect:

Corvalol usually well tolerated. In some cases, during the day may experience drowsiness and dizzy.

With prolonged use of high doses may develop chronic poisoning bromine, manifestations of which are: depressed mood, apathy, rhinitis, conjunctivitis, hemorrhagic diathesis, impaired coordination.

Dosage and administration:

Inside. Dosage is determined individually. Adults are usually prescribed for 15-30 drops 3 times a day before meals. If tachycardia is possible to increase a single dose of 40-50 drops. Children appoint 3-15 drops per day, depending on age and clinical disease.

Special instructions:

The product contains 79 percent by volume of ethanol and phenobarbital, therefore patients taking Corvalol, it is not recommended to engage in activities associated with increased attention and requires speed of mental and motor responses.

With long-term use of the drug, the formation of drug dependence may be the accumulation of bromine in the body and the development of poisoning them.
