clavulanic acid (in the form of potassium salt) 100 mg

Method of application and doses:

Adults and children over 12 years of age or weighing more than 40 kg: 1200 mg of the drug (1000 + 200 mg) with an interval of 8 h, in the case of severe infection — with an interval of 6 h.

Children aged from 3 months to 12 years: 30 mg / kg (in terms of the whole Amoxiclav) with an interval of 8 h, in the case of severe infection — with an interval of 6 h.

Children under the age of 3 months (premature and perinatal): 30 mg / kg (based on the whole Amoxiclav) every 12 hours.

In the postperinatal period: 30 mg / kg (based on the whole Amoxiclav) every 8 hours.

Every 30 mg of Amoxiclav contains 25 mg of amoxicillin and 5 mg of clavulanic acid.

Prophylactic doses in surgical interventions: 1200 mg in introductory anesthesia (with a duration of less than 2 hours). With longer operations-1200 mg up to 4 times during the day.

For patients with renal insufficiency dose and/or interval between drug administration should be adjusted depending on the degree of insufficiency:

Since 85% of the drug is removed by hemodialysis, at the end of each hemodialysis procedure it is necessary to enter the usual dose of Amoxiclav. In peritoneal dialysis, dose adjustment is not required.

The course of treatment is 5-14 days. The duration of treatment is determined by the attending physician. When reducing the severity of symptoms for the continuation of therapy, it is recommended to switch to oral forms of the drug Amoxiclav.

Preparation of solutions for injection. Dissolve the contents of the vial in water for injection: 600 mg (500 +100 mg) — 10 ml of water for injection or 1200 mg (1000 +200 mg) — 20 ml of water for injection. The solution is administered slowly (over 3-4 min.)

Preparation of solutions for in / infusion. For infusion Amoxiclav need further dilution: prepared solutions containing 600 mg (500 +100 mg) or 1200 mg (1000 +200 mg) of the drug should be diluted in 50 ml or 100 ml infusion solution, respectively. Duration of infusion-30-40 minutes.

Amoxiclav is less stable in infusion solutions containing glucose, dextran or bicarbonate.

Amoxiclav should be administered within 20 minutes after the preparation of solutions for on/in the introduction. Only clear solutions should be used. Prepared solutions should not be frozen.
