• Diclofenac 0.1% 5ml drops

Expiration date: 08/2025

Pharmacodynamics:

Diclofenac - phenylacetic acid derivative, has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. The mechanism of action is due to the indiscriminate inhibition of the activity of cyclooxygenase 1 and 2, which leads to suppression of the synthesis of prostaglandins in inflammation.

The local application in the form of eye drops diclofenac reduces inflammation of the eye arising as a result of infection, trauma or surgery; reduces miosis during surgery, reduces the synthesis of prostaglandins in the anterior chamber.

Pharmacokinetics:

The maximum concentration of a substance in the cornea and in the conjunctiva is reached by 30 minutes after instillation. The drug is rapidly excreted from the body, the complete elimination observed after 6 hours.

The drug enters the anterior chamber of the eye; the systemic circulation in therapeutically relevant concentrations is not supplied.

Testimony

  • Inhibition of miosis during surgery for cataract (the drug does not possess mydriatic properties and does not replace standard drugs causing mydriasis);
  • treatment and prevention of inflammatory processes after surgical interventions on the eyeball;
  • prophylaxis of cystic edema of macula after surgery for cataract;
  • treatment of noninfectious conjunctivitis;
  • treatment and prevention of post-traumatic inflammatory process in penetrating and nonpenetrating wounds of the eyeball (as addition to the local antibacterial therapy).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug, a violation of hematopoiesis of unknown origin, with erosive-ulcerative processes in the gastrointestinal tract in the acute stage.

Like other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), the drug is contraindicated in patients with asthma attacks, urticaria, acute rhinitis associated with the use of acetylsalicylic acid or other drugs that inhibit the activity of prostaglandinsynthase. There is a possibility of cross-sensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid, phenylacetic acid derivatives and other NSAIDs.

Contraindicated for intraocular use of the drug during surgical procedures.

With caution:

Epithelial herpetic keratitis (including in anamnesis); diseases causing the blood clotting disorders (including hemophilia, prolonged bleeding time, bleeding tendency); bronchial asthma, caused by taking aspirin; old age.
