Anticoccidial action of amprolium due to the proximity of its chemical structure to thiamine (vitamin B1) required for the life of coccidia. Due to the active transport amprolium better than thiamine, penetrates into the cell of the parasite and occupies the active binding of the vitamin, which leads to disruption of carbohydrate metabolism and death of the parasite. The structure of the cell membrane of the intestinal mucosa of birds and mammals almost not permeable to amprolium, making the preparation virtually non-toxic when used in therapeutic doses. The main part of amprolium (up to 97%) excreted in faeces. The drug prevents the formation of protivokariesnoe immunity, is compatible with the known vitamins and feed additives used in poultry. Refers to low-hazard substances (4 hazard class according to GOST 12.1.007). The LD50 when administered orally to white mice is 135,000 mg/kg.
