DESCRIPTION
Sulf granules is a combined broad-spectrum antibacterial drug. It is a white or grayish granular powder, well soluble in water and milk.
STRUCTURE
1 g of granulate contains trimethoprim 0.02 g and sulfadiazine 0.1 g.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Trimethoprim and sulfadiazine, which are part of the drug, show a synergistic effect and in combination have a wide spectrum of antimicrobial action. Sulf is active against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms that cause infectious diseases. The drug disrupts the biosynthesis of folic acid and blocks the metabolism of tetrahydrofolic acid, which is necessary for the development of bacteria. Sulf, when administered orally, is rapidly absorbed into the blood and penetrates into all organs and tissues of the animal. The maximum bacteriostatic concentration is observed in the blood 3 to 4 hours after application and is maintained for 12 hours. The drug is quickly excreted from the body in the urine.

Sulf granulate is given to animals and poultry in a mixture with feed, or pre-dissolved in water or milk. Treatment is carried out for 5-7 days and another 2 days after the disappearance of clinical signs of the disease.
