Characteristics substance
The alkaloid from the bark of the West African tree Corynanthe yohimbe and roots of Rauwolfia serpentina. The crystalline powder odorless.
Pharmacology
Mode of action - improving erectile function, stimulating potency.
Selectively blocking the central and peripheral presynaptic alpha2-adrenergic receptors. In high doses, it has the ability to block postsynaptic alpha-adrenoceptors. It improves erectile function (presumably due to increased blood flow to the penis and decreasing of outflow). Improves mood, may exacerbate anxiety.
It has antidiuretic action (possibly due to stimulation of the hypothalamic centers and the release of posterior pituitary hormone).
Testimony: psychogenic and functional impotence.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity expressed by the human kidney / liver function, labile blood pressure, uncontrolled hypo- / hypertension, concomitant use of agonists.
Restrictions apply
Impaired function of the cardiovascular system, stomach ulcer and duodenal ulcer history, the presence of mental illness.
Side effects of substance yohimbine hydrochloride
Agitation, tremors, headache, dizziness, anxiety, irritability, increased blood pressure, tachycardia, orthostatic collapse (in high doses), increased motor activity, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, priapism, a decrease in urine output.
Interaction
It should not be combined with drugs that affect mood, including antidepressants.
Dosing and Administration
Inside (during a meal, a glass of water), 5-10 mg 1-3 times a day for 3-10 weeks (no more). repeat the course if necessary.
Precautions substance yohimbine hydrochloride
Do not use in cases involving the risk of a sudden drop in blood pressure and the development of tachycardia.
