DESCRIPTION
Amoxicillin L15% (Amoxicillinum L 15%)-an antimicrobial drug, is a water-oil suspension of white or slightly yellow color. Precipitation that breaks when shaken is allowed.
STRUCTURE
1 ml of the suspension contains 150 mg of amoxicillin trihydrate.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Amoxicillin trihydrate is a semi-synthetic antibiotic from the penicillin group. It has a wide spectrum of bactericidal action against Gram-positive (Actinomyces spp., Bacillus anthracis, Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Listeria monocytogenes, Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp.) and Gram-negative microorganisms (Actinobacillus spp., Bordetella bronchiseptica, E. coli, Salmonella spp., Fusobacterium spp., Haemophilus spp., Moraxella spp., Pasteurella spp., Proteus mirabilis). The drug does not work on penicillinase-forming strains of microorganisms from the genera Klebsiella and Enterobacter, as well as Pseudomonas.
With parenteral use, amoxicillin is well absorbed into the blood from the injection site and is rapidly distributed in the body, reaching the highest concentration in muscle tissue, liver, kidneys, and gastrointestinal tract due to its insignificant connection with plasma proteins (17-20%). Amoxicillin penetrates to a small extent into the brain and bone fluid, except in cases where the meninges are inflamed. The maximum concentration in the blood plasma is reached in 1-2 hours after administration of the drug and remains at the therapeutic level for 48 hours. Amoxicillin is practically not metabolized. It is excreted from the body mainly in the urine, to a lesser extent with milk and bile.
According to the classification of GOST 12.1.007-76, the drug belongs to the 4th hazard class (low-hazard substances).
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Amoxicillin L15% is used for the treatment of large and small cattle, pigs with infectious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract: salmonellosis, colibacteriosis, streptococcosis, etc.; infectious diseases of the respiratory tract: pneumonia and bronchopneumonia of bacterial etiology of young cattle and pigs; infectious diseases of the genitourinary system: cystitis, urethritis; wounds, abscesses, hoof rot, joint inflammation, umbilical infections and other infectious diseases of the skin and soft tissues; atrophic rhinitis; metritis, mastitis, agalactia in sows; for the prevention of surgical postoperative infections.
The drug is administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly at a dose of 1 ml per 10 kg of live weight (15 mg of active substance per 1 kg of animal body weight). The drug is used once. If necessary, the drug is administered fractionally at several injection sites. In the case of a severe course of the disease, the drug is used twice with an interval of 48 hours.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
If allergic and other side effects occur, the drug is canceled and antihistamines and calcium preparations are prescribed.
Slaughter of animals for meat not earlier than 21 days after the last administration of the drug. The meat of animals that were forcibly killed before the expiration of the specified period is not used for human food, it can be used for feeding carnivorous animals. Milk should not be used for food purposes for 3 days after the last use of the drug. Before this period, milk is used in animal feed.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Increased individual sensitivity of animals to penicillins. Do not use the drug together with tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, sulfonamides.
SIDE EFFECTS
In the recommended doses, it does not have a negative effect, but in animals with hypersensitivity to betalactam antibiotics (penicillins, cephalosporins), various allergic reactions are possible.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
Store with caution (list B) in a dry, dark place at a temperature of 5°C to 25°C. Shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture. The shelf life of the opened bottle is 4 weeks.
