Dioxinor is an antibacterial drug for the treatment of piglets and farm birds. In appearance, it is a transparent liquid of yellow with a greenish tinge of color.

STRUCTURE

Norfloxacin hydrochloride, dioxidine, excipients.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Dioxidin-active against gram-negative and gram-positive pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms with low sensitivity or resistance to antibiotics and other chemotherapeutic agents. Selectively inhibits the synthesis of microbial cell DNA, without affecting the synthesis of RNA and 6-protein, causes structural changes in the cell wall, suppresses the activity of extracellular bacterial nuclease and a-toxin.

Norfloxacin — effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms, including Escherichia coli, Haemophilus, Pasteurella, Salmonella, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Clostridium, Bordetella, Comaclobacter, Corinebacterium, Pseudomonas, Proteus, Mycobakterium spp., including penicillinase-produced and methicillin-resistant strains, as well as Mycoplasma spp.

The mechanism of action of norfloxacin is to inhibit the activity of DNA gyrase (type II and IV topoisomerase), which leads to irreversible changes in the microbial cell and its death.

INDICATIONS

For the treatment of colibacteriosis, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, streptococcosis, mycoplasmosis and other diseases caused by the association of microorganisms sensitive to the combination of active substances of the drug in piglets and farm birds.

APPLICATION

The drug is used individually or in a group way with water for drinking.

With a group method of use during the treatment period, piglets and birds should only take water containing Dioxinor. The therapeutic solution is prepared daily in a volume calculated for consumption during the day.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

It is not allowed to use the drug to laying hens and repair young chickens less than two weeks before the start of egg laying.

SIDE EFFECTS

When using the drug in accordance with the instructions, side effects and complications are usually not observed.

With increased individual sensitivity of the animal to fluoroquinolones and the appearance of side effects (refusal of food, vomiting, impaired coordination of movements), the use of the drug is discontinued.

Slaughter of pigs for meat is allowed no earlier than 14 days, birds – no earlier than 11 days after the last use of the drug.

STORAGE

Store in the manufacturer's closed packaging, separate from food and feed, in a dry place protected from light at a temperature of 5°C to 20°C. Shelf life under storage conditions is 18 months from the date of production.
