Pharmacological action
Antiseptic solution "Dr. Iodine" - antiseptic drug, its antimicrobial action is based on the damage of the iodine cell wall of pathogenic microorganisms. Disentangling from the complex with polyvinylpyrrolidone in contact with a biological material, the iodine forms with proteins cells bacteria iodamide, coagulates them and cause the death of microorganisms. Antiseptic solution "Dr. Iodine" - possesses antimicrobial activity against gram-positive (including mycobacteria of tuberculosis) and gram-negative bacteria, yeast fungi of the genus Candida, Trichophyton, viruses (Coxsackie, ECHO, polio, hepatitis A, b, C, etc., HIV, influenza including H5N1, H1N1, herpes, adenoviruses, etc.). Antiseptic solution "Dr. Iodine" has a more lasting effect compared to conventional alcoholic solution of iodine.

The solution is used externally:
for antiseptic treatment of skin.
for the treatment of hands of surgeons and other individuals involved in surgical interventions in hospitals (including dental organizations, maternity homes, etc.).
for skin treatment prior to injections, drawing blood, lumbar puncture, biopsy, transfusion, infusion and other manipulations connected with infringement of integrity of the skin.
for skin treatment of the surgical field before surgery.
for bacterial, fungal and viral infections of the skin.
Contraindications
Not recommended for persons with individual hypersensitivity to iodine (iodism).
Method of application and doses
The solution is used externally as an antiseptic, irritating and distracting agent.
Side effects
Iodism (non-infectious inflammation of the mucous membranes in the places of excretion of iodine overdose or individual intolerance of iodine preparations).
