The composition and form of issue:

100 ml of ear drops contain neomycin sulfate 1 g, which corresponds to 650000 UNITS, polymyxin B sulfate 1000000 UNITS and dexamethasone sodium metasulphobenzoate 100 mg in vials with a pipette of 10.5 ml.

Pharmacological action:

Damages the cytoplasmic membrane of microbial cells, disrupts the flow of metabolites inside the cell with subsequent death. Inhibits the release of mediators of inflammation, stabilizes cell membranes and cellular organelles reduces the permeability of capillaries.

Description pharmacological action:

Active against many gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms. Does not exhibit systemic effects (in the absence of perforation of the tympanic membrane).

Indications:

Otitis externa without damage to the eardrum (including infected eczema of the external auditory canal) acute otitis media.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity, perforation of the tympanic membrane (infectious or traumatic).

Side effects:

Rare — allergic skin manifestations of disorders of the vestibular and auditory functions (open the eardrum).

Method of application and dose:

Externally, the bottle before use, it is recommended to warm, hold it in your hand. 1-5 drops 2 times a day for 6-10 days (no more). After instillation it is necessary to tilt your head for a few minutes.

Precautions:

Before beginning treatment, you must make sure of the integrity of the tympanic membrane (if ruptured the use of the drug is unacceptable because of the possible serious complications — deafness, vestibular disorders). It is impossible to inject the drug under pressure. Not allowed the simultaneous use of other aminoglycosides.
