Collagen hemostatic sponge is a dry porous mass of yellow color with weak smell of acetic acid, absorbs the liquid, with slight swells.
The pharmacological properties
Hemostatic sponge of collagen having the hemostatic and antiseptic action, stimulates the regeneration of tissues. Left in the wound or cavity, it is completely absorbed.
Indications
A hemostatic collagen sponge used as a hemostatic agent in domestic injuries to stop capillary bleeding during surgical procedures in the outpatient or inpatient setting. For filling defects parenchymatous organs and stop parenchymal bleeding, tamponade sinuses of the Dura mater to stop bleeding from the medullary canal, in the practice of ENT, ophthalmology, dentistry, by picking the first aid kit (automotive).
Application
Hemostatic sponge of collagen extracted from the package, put on the bleeding spot, pressed against him for 1-2 minutes or tightly are treated a bleeding cavity. After the soaking with the blood of the sponge adheres to the bleeding surface. If the bleeding does not stop, there is applied a second layer of the sponge.

Contraindications
The use of hemostatic collagen sponge is contraindicated if arterial bleeding, intolerance of nitrofuran (furatsilin).
