Composition and form of issue

Pancef, granules for preparation of suspension for intake:

5 ml of ready-made suspensions. contains 100 mg of cefixime, 

in flask of 32 g or 53 g

Pancef, tablets, film-coated:

1 tablet contains cefixime 400 mg, 

the package 6 or 10 PCs.

Pharmacological action:

Pancef, has antibacterial, bactericidal effect.

Indications:

Infectious and inflammatory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to the drug: pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis, acute and chronic bronchitis, otitis media, uncomplicated urinary tract infections, uncomplicated gonorrhoea.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity.

Restrictions on use

Chronic renal failure, pseudomembranous colitis (history), elderly age, children under 6 months (safety and efficacy have not been determined).

Application for pregnancy and breastfeeding

During pregnancy, it is possible if the expected effect of therapy exceeds the potential risk to the fetus (adequate and strictly controlled studies of safety in pregnant women were not conducted). In the study of reproduction in mice and rats with the introduction of animal doses, up to 400 times higher than the dose for humans, there were no cases of violations in the fetus.

At the time of treatment should stop breastfeeding (it is not known whether cefixim penetrates into breast milk).

Side effect: 

From the nervous system and sensory organs: headache, dizziness.

From the hematopoietic system: eosinophilia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, hemolytic anemia.

On the part of the digestive tract: stomatitis, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, pseudomembranous colitis, tranzithornoe increase in liver transaminases and alkaline phosphatase.

On the part of the genitourinary system: increased urea nitrogen or serum creatinine, described cases of interstitial nephritis.

Allergic reactions: skin rash, itching, urticaria, erythema multiforme, Stevens — Johnson syndrome.

Other: genital mycosis, vaginitis, candidiasis.

Method of application and doses

Pancef taken orally. Adults and children over the age of 12 weighing more than 50 kg daily dose is 400 mg (1 time per day or 200 mg twice a day). Children aged 6 months to 12 years: 8 mg/kg/day or 4 mg / kg every 12 hours the Duration of treatment depends on the severity of the disease and is set individually.

In cases of renal impairment (creatinine Cl 21-60 ml / min) or patients on hemodialysis, the daily dose should be reduced by 25%. At Cl creatinine less than or equal to 20 ml / min or in patients on peritoneal dialysis, the daily dose of Pancef should be reduced by 2 times.
