The composition and form of issue:

Eye drops, 1 ml contains Tetryzoline hydrochloride 0.0005 g

excipients: water, chamomile distilled water, lime distilled disodium phosphate decahydrate potassium dihydrogen phosphate sodium chloride sodium edetate Polysorbate 80 benzalkonium chloride purified water 

in vials-droppers plastic 8 ml in a cardboard pack 1 bottle with dropper.

Description pharmaceutical form:

Colorless or light yellow transparent liquid.

Pharmacokinetics:

The local application of recommended doses the drug is practically not absorbed and has no systemic action.

Description pharmacological action:

Tetryzoline hydrochloride alpha-agonists, a derivative of imidazole. Has a pronounced vasoconstrictor effect. When the local application reduces the swelling and hyperemia of the mucous membranes.

Extracts of chamomile and Linden provide an easy anti-inflammatory effect.

Indications:

In the treatment of eye diseases, accompanied by symptoms of irritation caused by allergic, chemical and physical factors (smoke, dust, strong illumination, reflection of light from snow and water surfaces from emitting screens).

Contraindications:

  • increased individual sensitivity to product components
  • glaucoma
  • the syndrome of "dry eye"
  • epithelial-endothelial dystrophy of the cornea
  • children up to age 3 years.

With caution:

  • increase in blood pressure
  • heart disease (coronary artery disease, arrhythmia, aneurysm)
  • heavy organic diseases of the heart and blood vessels
  • hyperthyroidism
  • pheochromocytoma
  • diabetes
  • during the period of treatment MAO inhibitors and other drugs that increase blood pressure, antidepressants
  • pregnancy
  • lactation.

Application of pregnancy and breast-feeding:

During pregnancy and breastfeeding should be careful.

Side effects:

Local: mydriasis, increased intraocular pressure, burning, reactive conjunctival hyperemia.

Systemic: headache, nausea, drowsiness, weakness, tremor, dizziness, insomnia, palpitations, tachycardia, hyperglycemia, increased blood pressure, disruption of the heart, allergic reactions.

Drug interactions:

The drug should not be administered concomitantly with MAO inhibitors within 10 days after the termination of their employment.

Method of application and dose:

The conjunctival. 1-2 drops 2-3 times a day.

Overdose:

Symptoms: cyanosis, fever, cramps, arrhythmia, heart failure, increased blood pressure, pulmonary edema, dyspnea. Excessive total absorption of imidazole derivatives may cause CNS depression accompanied by drowsiness, hypothermia, bradycardia, collapse, apnea and coma. The risk of symptoms of overdose associated with drug absorption, high in young children, especially if swallowed.

Treatment: the antidote is unknown. The appointment of activated charcoal, gastric lavage, oxygen inhalation, antipyretics and anticonvulsants. To lower blood pressure — phentolamine 5 mg (physiological solution), in/in slowly or on 100 mg inside.

Special instructions:

Without consulting a doctor the drug should not be used continuously for more than 4 days. If within 2 days the symptoms persist or become more pronounced, it is necessary to consult an ophthalmologist.

It is recommended to strictly observe the dosing regimen of the drug.

The drug should be stored out of the reach of children, since accidental ingestion may be a manifestation of systemic action of the drug.

Patients who use contact lenses should before using Octree to take them off and put on again only after 15 minutes after instillation of the drug.

Expiration date:

After opening the package — not more than 28 days.
