Description pharmacological action:

Amino acid beta-alanine counteracts the abrupt release of histamine, but does not possess antihistaminic activity, as it does not cause blockade of histamine H1-receptors.

The drug has a direct effect on the peripheral skin vessels, which causes vegetative reactions in menopause (hot flashes, feeling of warmth, fever, headache). These vasomotor reactions caused by the activity of thermoregulatory centres in the hypothalamus due to infringement of balance of cerebral neurotransmitters arising from the cessation of secretion of hormones by the ovaries. The preparation contributes to the saturation of peripheral receptors neurotransmitters.

Indications:

Hot flashes during menopause (including artificial menopause in pre - and perimenopausal women).

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Side effects:

Rarely, allergic reactions.

Method of application and dose:

Inside, 400-800 mg/day. If necessary, the dose may be increased to 1,2 g/day (3 tabs. a day). The duration of therapy is 5-10 days until symptoms disappear. With the resumption of the tides should hold a second course of therapy.
