Pharmacological action

Magnesium is involved in most exchange reactions, and activates more than 300 enzymes. An essential element in processes that support the receipt and expenditure of energy. Involved in the balance of electrolytes, transport of ions, permeability of membranes in the regulation of transmission of nerve impulses and in muscle contraction. Is a natural calcium antagonist.

Testimony

Magnesium deficiency, accompanying symptoms such as: minor sleep disorders, irritability, mild anxiety, fatigue, cramps in the calf muscles.

Contraindications

Increased individual sensitivity to the drug, severe renal insufficiency, atrioventricular block, myasthenia gravis, hypermagnesemia, children up to 12 years. 

In connection with the presence in the preparation of sucrose Magnesium - Diasporal 300 is contraindicated in case of intolerance to fructose, syndrome of malabsorption of glucose or galactose, or with a deficit sucrase — isomaltase. 

With caution. Moderate renal insufficiency (the risk of gipermagniemii). Application of pregnancy and during breastfeeding the drug during pregnancy only on the advice of a doctor. 

Taking into account that magnesium penetrates into the breast milk, if necessary, taking the drug is recommended to stop feeding.

Method of application and doses

Inside. Adults and children over 12 years: 1 packet daily. Dissolve contents of 1 packet 0.5 Cup of fruit juice, tea or water. Typically, the duration of treatment is one month.

Side effects

Allergic reactions, disorders of the gastrointestinal tract: diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation, nausea, flatulence.

Drug interactions

Aminoglycoside antibiotics, cisplatin and cyclosporin accelerate the excretion of magnesium. 

Ions of magnesium, iron, fluoride and tetracycline mutually affect the absorption of each other, so you need to follow the 2-h time interval between intake of Magnesium-Diasporal 300 and preparations containing these substances. Magnesium reduces the effect of indirect anticoagulants, reduces the absorption of iron.

Overdose

Overdose symptoms: decreased blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, slowing of reflexes, respiratory depression, coma, cardiac arrest, anuria. 

Treatment: In/with the introduction of calcium and/m or subcutaneous administration of 1-2 ampoules (0.5-1 mg/ml) neostigmine of metilsulfate, or oral administration of 0.9% sodium chloride, in the case of kidney failure - hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis.
