The composition and form of issue

Foster an aerosol for inhalations dosed:

1 dose contains beclomethasone dipropionate 100 micrograms, formoterol fumarate 6 mcg, 

in the cylinder 120 doses.

Pharmacological action:

Foster has anti-inflammatory effect, reduces symptoms of asthma and reduces the frequency of exacerbations of the disease, thus has a lower incidence of side effects than systemic corticosteroids.

Indications:

Basic therapy of bronchial asthma, providing for the appointment of combination therapy (inhaled glucocorticosteroid and ? 2 agonists long-acting):

Patients with symptoms that are inadequately controlled with inhaled corticosteroids and ? 2-agonists short-acting.

Patients receiving effective maintenance dose of inhaled corticosteroids and ? 2 agonists long-acting.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to foster children up to age 12 years.

With caution:

Pregnancy, lactation, pulmonary tuberculosis, fungal, viral or bacterial infection of the respiratory system, thyrotoxicosis, pheochromocytoma, diabetes mellitus, uncontrolled gipokaliemia, idiopathic hypertrophic subaortic stenosis, atrioventricular block III degree, severe arterial hypertension, aneurysm of any localization or other severe cardiovascular disease (acute myocardial infarction, ischemic heart disease, tachyarrhythmia, decompensated chronic heart failure, long interval, Q-TC (acceptance of formoterol may cause a long QT?- interval)).

Side effects: 

Among the most frequent side effects associated with the administration of formoterol described are typical for beta2-agonists, such as: hypokalemia, headache, tremor, palpitations, cough, muscle spasm, lengthening of the QTc-interval. Side effects characteristic of beclomethasone dipropionate: candidiasis of the mucosa of the mouth and throat, irritation in the throat.

As with other inhaled drugs, the foster may cause paradoxical bronchospasm.

Other side effects characteristic of formoterol: thrombocytopenia, angioneurotic edema, hyperglycemia, increased blood levels of insulin, free fatty acids, glycerol and ketone derivatives, sleep disturbances, hallucinations, fatigue, anxiety, change in taste (dysgeusia), tachycardia, tachyarrhythmia, ventricular extrasystoles, angina (coronary heart disease), atrial fibrillation, hypertension, hypotension, aggravation of asthma, shortness of breath, nausea, pruritus, rash, urticaria, hyperhidrosis, myalgia, nephritis, peripheral edema.

Method of application and doses

The selection of doses of drugs included in the foster, occurs individually, and depending on the severity of the disease. Adults and adolescents over 12 years: 1-2 inhalations twice a day. Patients should be under constant medical supervision for adequate selection of the dose of foster. Dose should be reduced to the lowest, which maintains optimal control of symptoms of asthma. In achieving complete control of symptoms of asthma on the background of minimum recommended doses of the drug, the next step may be to try the appointment of monotherapy with inhaled glucocorticosteroids.

No need for special selection of the dose for elderly patients.
