The composition and form of issue:

Extended-release tablets, 1 tablet contains:

mesalazine 500 mg

auxiliary substances: povidone ethyl cellulose magnesium stearate talc MCC 750 mg 

blistere in 10 PCs., in box 5 or 10 blisters.

Suppositories for rectal application, 1 supp. contains:

mesalazine 1000 mg

auxiliary substances: povidone macrogol 6000 magnesium stearate talc 

complete with rubber finger cots in a box of 28 sets.

Pharmacological action:

Reduces the formation of leukotrienes and cytokines, and neutralizes free radicals, inhibits chemotaxis of leukocytes.

Indications:

Ulcerative colitis including proctitis, Crohn's disease.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity (including to salicylates or other components of the drug) expressed violations of the liver and kidneys.

Application of pregnancy and breast-feeding:

During pregnancy and the lactation period is prescribed only in those cases when the positive effect exceeds the risk of possible side effects.

Side effects:

Discomfort in the abdomen, nausea, vomiting, headache, diarrhoea, skin rash as hives or eczema very rarely — pain in the muscles and joints, temporary hair loss, liver and kidney, pericarditis, myocarditis, pancreatitis, changes in blood counts (leukopenia, granulocytopenia, thrombocytopenia, anemia).

Method of application and dose:

Inside, not liquid, possible swallowing whole (to facilitate swallowing is divided into several parts, or dissolved in water or juice directly before the meal), dose adjusted individually. Adults with exacerbation of ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease — usually up to 4 g/day in divided doses maintenance dose — 2 g/day in divided doses for ulcerative colitis and 4 g/day in divided doses for Crohn's disease children older than 2 years, usually 20-30 mg/kg/day in divided doses.

Rectal, adult — 1 supp. 1-2 times a day into the rectum prior to the termination resistance of the muscle pulp (before the introduction of the empty intestines, to facilitate the introduction of the suppository moistened with water, to ensure hygiene use rubber fingertip).

If within 10 minutes, the suppository will be printed, enter another suppository.

Precautions:

At the beginning and throughout the course of treatment should regularly monitor the peripheral blood, levels of urea, creatinine. In the case of pronounced pathological changes in blood composition (increased bleeding, bruising, sore throat, fever), development of pericarditis, myocarditis and acute intolerance syndrome, the drug should be stopped. It is not recommended to assign children up to 2 years.
