Release form and composition:

clindamycin (phosphate) 100 mg

Auxiliary substances: semisynthetic glycerides (Astrium, Witepsol or Suppoter).

Pharmacological action:

Antibiotic from the group linkozamidov, has a wide spectrum of antimicrobial action. The mechanism of action is due to binding to the 50 S subunit of the ribosomal membrane and inhibition of protein synthesis in the microbial cell. Acts bacteriostatically. In respect of a number of gram-positive cocci possible bactericidal action.

Active against Staphycccus spp. (incl.Staphycccus epidermidis, producing and non-producing penicillinase), Streptcccus spp. (except Enterccccus faecais), Streptcccus pneumniae, Crynebacterium diphtheriae, Mycpasma spp., anaerobic and microaerophilic gram-positive cocci (including Peptcccus spp . and Peptstreptcccus spp.), Cstridium perfringens, tetani Cstridium, Bacterides spp. (including Bacterides fragiis and Prevtea meaningenica), Fusbacterium spp., Prpinibacterium spp., eubacterium and Actinmyces israeii.

Most strains of Cstridium perfringens are sensitive to clindamycin, but other types of cstridium spp. (incl.Cstridium sprgenes, Cstridium tertium) resistant to its action, in connection with which infections caused by Cstridium spp., it is recommended to determine antibioticogram.

Between clindamycin and lincomycin there is cross-resistance.

Pharmacokinetics:

After a single intravaginal administration of clindamycin at a dose of 100 mg 4% of the administered dose is subjected to systemic absorption. Cmax in plasma is 20 ng/ml.

Indications:

• bacterial vaginosis caused by microorganisms sensitive to the drug.
  

Dosage regimen:

Assign intravaginal 1 suppository 1 time / day immediately before bedtime, for 3-7 days in a row.

Before use, one suppository is released from the contour packaging, after cutting the film along the contour of the suppository, enter, if possible, deep into the vagina, lying down.

Side effect:

From the genital system: cervicitis, vaginitis, vulvovaginal irritation.

On the part of the blood: rare - obratimaya lakopenia, neutropenia, eosinophilia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia.

Allergic reactions: macula-papular rash, urticaria, itching.

Other: with systemic absorption, other systemic side effects are possible, including, in rare cases, pseudomembranous enterocolitis.

Contraindications:

• I trimester of pregnancy
  
• hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
  

Pregnancy and lactation:

Intravaginal use of Clindacin in pregnancy is possible only when the intended benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus. Clindamycin penetrates the placental barrier into the fetal circulatory system.

Clindamycin is excreted in breast milk. With caution, it is recommended to prescribe the drug during lactation. At the time of treatment breastfeeding should be discontinued.

Special instruction:

Vaginal suppositories are not recommended for use simultaneously with other intravaginal drugs.

Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and control mechanisms

The drug has no effect on the ability to focus and speed psychomotor reactions.

Overdose:

Due to the low absorption of the drug overdose is unlikely.

Drug interaction:

Clindacin® enhances the effects of the drugs rifampicin, aminoglycosides - streptomycin, gentamicin.

Enhances muscle relaxation caused by the n-holinoblokatorami.

Clindacin® incompatible with erythromycin, ampicillin, diphenylhydantoin derivatives, barbiturates, aminophylline, calcium gluconate and magnesium sulfate.

Storage conditions and terms:

The drug should be stored out of reach of children, dry, dark place at a temperature of from 15° to 25°C. location. Shelf life-3 years.
